"Oh would that my soul could fly like that,
from the grind of the great machine
that drinks the blood of women and men,
in the struggle cruel and keen."
- Local Poet

Carpe Noctem is a not for profit Vampire: The Masquerade chronicle operated on a private IRC server, accessible to the players of the chronicle 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The chronicle takes place in the harbor city of St. John's, where the nights are long and kindred of all walks of life travel through from Europe and North America on their way across the Atlantic Ocean. New players are always welcome to the game, and we thank you for coming by.
Our game's setting is persistent; tentative alliances are forged, enemies defeated and backs stabbed - even when you aren't logged on. No two sessions of play will ever be the same as the dynamic environment changes and reacts to the actions of the players in the game. However as a player, you have the flexibility to play whenever is convenient for you. There are no scheduled meeting times to play, and no cause to worry about your responsibilities conflicting with the schedule of the game. We're always operating, and as long as there is someone online to play with - you can play.
Carpe Noctem is built on the metaplot of White Wolf's second edition of Vampire: The Masquerade, while our book rules largely follow the third edition. Please refer to the house rules section to see what's different from the World of Darkness you may be used to seeing.
You can find our server by connecting to irc.carpenoctem-online.org. New players are encouraged to stop by the #ooc channel, and the #gamehelp channel to say hello to the community and meet the staff. Sheet information and submission can be done before or after you meet the staff here. Need help logging on, or fussing with IRC? Click here.

There is more helpful information available to you at the CNOwiki and our forums. Waste no time, however. Even now, ambitious kindred are taking every opportunity to grab influence and rise in power. You can, too - Seize the night.
